I have many memories of Taco House growing up. My mom used to be a waitress back in the 80 when my mom was done with shift at Taco House. She would always bring Tacos home which came with three tacos in a box. I could eat 6 , my dad would eat 6 and my little sister 3. Boy they were good tacos with the salsa. Later in the years I started to work for Taco House with Greg in the back small kitchen beside the restaurant. I learned a lot working with Greg. The guy was a cool boss and made me laugh every morning when Greg listened to the Mexican stations on the little radio he had. On the Mexican station when the person on the radio were speaking Spanish and laughing. I would ask Greg what did they say in Spanish that made you laugh because I don't speak Spanish even though I have a Spanish last name. And Greg would tell me he doesn't know what they said but he just enjoyed listening to them and it makes him laugh. Well I will miss the original Taco House and their awesome food. Hopefully in the future Greg will reopened the original location again 🙏. When I go up to Denver I will go visit the Lakewood location to eat my favorite meals which is the #4, the special combination and the burrta. 😋😋😋😋

Have been frequenting taco house I'll shut up since 1970. I came to Colorado then to go to college. At 1 point I was Jobless and starving. I collected pop bottles so I could get enough money to buy food. Luckily I found taco house and Their food was so affordable to me at that time that I can truly say taco house saved my life. Thank you taco house...

My family has been dining at Taco House for as long as I can remember. Most of my family always ordered a #4 chili con queso extra onions, tacos or my personal favorite a barrata extra extra onions. Everyone in my family owns a taco house shirt it seems, and they wear it constantly sometimes matching eachother unknowingly. The memories of taking my grandparents here for lunch or my mom when I was just on my own and wanted to treat them will always be special to me. There aren't many places to eat around this area any more worth taking my family to and now that I have a family of my own I am sad this Taco House that has been a staple won't be a tradition I can pass on.

We dreaded that these days might be coming. The Taco House has been part of our family since 1974. We used to save our money as kids to go to the Taco House and get a Special Combination and Queso's. We've been to all of the old locations across Denver on many occasions, but our favorite(s) were always either West Colfax, the old Villa Italia location or Federal when we were in the area. To say we grew up on it is so very true. When the Blizzard of '82 hit, the TH was open the day after and we drove a VW Beetle through the snow to have our favorites! Nancy catered my late mothers' (The Avon Lady) memorial service so we could send her off in TH style! Time marches on. We're all older now and the landscape of our city has changed. The one beacon has always been the Taco House. Our comfort place. It can and will never be replaced. Hopefully Greg & Nancy will go a few more years at Wadsworth! To the Bevelhymer's, Reish's and all at the Taco House of all these years. We thank you and we love you! All the best!

My grandparents started going here, taking my dad and their 3 other children here all the time. Religiously. When my grandmother died, we all gathered here. She loves this place. This place created my dad’s love for Mexican food. Something he’s passed down to his own 3 children. My dad starting taking me here when I was just a baby. I’m now 31 and I’ve gone too many times to count. Even when we moved to Texas, we came back to visit family twice a year and we went to Taco House every single time. This place means so much to my dad and I. To my family. When I moved back to Colorado on my own, I became a regular again. I introduced the greatest smothered green burrito to my now husband. It was a staple in our house when I became pregnant myself. Now, my own baby goes here. That’s 4 generations of my family that eats here. I’ll never forget the one time my dad couldn’t make it to Colorado for Christmas and we framed a menu for him as a gift. We are so thrilled to own multiple merch items. My Taco House hoodie is one of my most cherished items. This place means everything to us. Even though Taco House is run by a family that is not mine, it feels like it is ours too. Thank you so much for all the memories. We will miss this place more than you will ever know.

I remember growing up and eating at the Taco House in Aurora location before it got shut down for selling minors liquor and I would always get a #2 with onions and a Burrada with lettuce, tomato, and onions. When I was a baby my parents took us there and they gave me hot sauce to try and made me cry cause it was too spicy. But even before I left Colorado I still would go to the one that was off of I think it was 88th and Washington just right east of Jim's Burger Haven and I would still get my #2 with onions and my Burrada deluxe. I truly wished you had a restaurant out here in Fort Worth TX. Some where in my stuff I have a free dinner from the one that was off of Washington Street, it was a punch card that got filled out and got a free dinner and never turned it in for the free dinner cause I moved away and then that location shut down. I don't know when it did or why, so I don't think that even if some how if I were to make a trip out there I don't think I would be able to use that punch card.

My wife introduced me to the culinary extravagance of the Federal Blvd. Taco House location four years ago. Since then, we have made a (semi) weekly commitment to stop in for consistently comforting food, good conversation with Greg, Sierra and the rest of the staff and an overall sense of community and joy. Like a friend you love to visit, it has been a staple in our lives, and will be sorely missed. Best wishes to everyone who works there. It has been a pleasure getting to know you all and bonding over tacos and cheese enchiladas (hold the onions for my wife, please.)

I went in to the Lakewood location today for a #4 with onions, mom had the same but she get green chili instead of the enchilada sauce. We sat and talked about our memories, over 40 years ago coming here as a family. I was just a little girl and ordered the taco burger with chips most times. Then grew into the order of crunchy tacos, and then matured and realized the #4 cheese enchiladas was the way to go. Thank you for so many memories and for being a place for family to gather all these years.

My cousin and I started going to Taco House in the early 70’s at the Littleton Blvd location and continued to go through the years. Taco House was always one of our favorites and always affordable so we’re so sad to hear of this. To the owners Thank you for always providing great food and great service we will miss you!

My dad was a window cleaner and he washed the windows at several of their locations that’s how we were introduced to Mexican Food. We always enjoyed going there as a family. I remember the OG’s the Bevos, and then when Bob, Vicky, took over, Anita waitressed there for years, they were all such wonderful people. My brother briefly worked there as a dishwasher. Thank you for over 50 years of great Taco House south Federal memories! Sad this is happening but definitely understandable.

Many fond memories of Taco House. Grew up in southwest Denver and my Mom would take us there quite a bit as kids. The tacos were my favorite! In later years, as an adult, I would meet my parents at the South Federal location (near Hampden) for all you can eat night. My husband and I still occasionally eat at the Lakewood location. Sorry to see the original location go. If you grew up in Denver or the suburbs, Taco House is a little bit of nostalgia 🙂

I first ate at Taco House as a teenager! Loved it! Then my family ate there starting a family tradition of eating there after church. Each of us had our favorite meal, cheese enchiladas, smothered burritos in green chili, bean burritos and chili con queso!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Taco House Taco House Taco House..... You were there for me when many weren't. When the days were cold and life was hard I knew I could get a good meal for shockingly cheap. You're my favorite restaurant in Denver and I'm sure nothing will fill the void (in my heart and stomach) quite the same.

I love Taco House! My family went to Taco House in Thornton for years. Our daughter was an infant and we'd set her car seat on the table and she'd sleep and my wife and I would enjoy the $3 all you eat! Wonderful! Also frequented the Littleton location as I worked at United Bank of Littleton at the time, awesome place!

I have been going to taco House for at least 50 years, I took my children there every other weekend, we would go to taco House on Saturday and visit grandma and grandpa, we always looked so forward to our taco house visits, We brought many friends and family to taco House through the years. My children are now 44 and 54, and I am now a great grandmother. I so so hope that the Lakewood location stays open for a long time to come, love the good food, and great crew, it’s always been very clean very friendly service and good food, we still come there, thank you for many wonderful years of so much delicious food, and wishing for many more.

I can't remember a time that we didn't eat there. As soon as my daughter had teeth she became an enchilada addict. When we lived nearby, carryout was a regular thing. We moved across town in 1977 but I still remember the phone number and when we're in that part of town, we always have a meal. We also get a couple of quarts of enchilada sauce to take home. We're so sad to see it go.

Dad was a health inspector, so knew what Denver restaurants to eat at and which ones to stay away from. I think the special combination was 75 cents or 1.00 when I actually paid attention to prices. The meals always had a pecan praline with them. Still eat at the one on Littleton, just there last weekend. Dad really liked the "Original" one the best, so that's where we ate the most. Saturdays (working at Buckingham Square) a friend and I would always go to the Havana/Mississippi location. Sister and her in-laws would take back the green chili everytime they visited from Montana. Going to miss the people and the great food. Tried other places, but with 60+ year of eating at Taco House, it's still the best comfort food for our family

When "Sultans of Swing" comes on the radio I am instantly transported to the prep area at the Villa Italia location. I was 14 years old in "78" making guacamole when I first heard it on 95 KIMN. Many fond memories of working and eating there. I always make the effort when I'm in Denver to have a smothered green bean burrito.

My grandfather loved Taco House since the beginning. My first Taco House experience was in Aurora near Havana and Mississippi in the 80s. It has been in my life since I was bornin 1975. All You Can Eat was the best. My family partook in the Taco Houses all over the town through the years, including receiving Gift Certificates on birthdays and Christmas. We would celebrate Mother's Day at Taco House. Good, great times. A Photo Gallery https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjBU95y

My sister and I started coming to taco house in 1975 when she got her drivers license. We always loved getting the Chalupa’s, the burrada’s, the cheese enchiladas, and the queso on tortillas. Always looked forward to the “chili powder” hot sauce. Wonderful food, and wonderful memories. You will be missed at that location.

Many memories!! This was the first restaurant my parents took us to when we were transplanted from Hazel Park, Mi!!! I was 9 and I am now 49!!! Long time! Throughout the years it was a familiar and favorite of our family and friends!! One of my funniest memories is, one afternoon while eating with my kids and friend and her kids my uncle walks in. I was sitting in the middle round table and the kids and such were sitting in one of the booths, my uncle fell over in laughter because I was sitting with a FULL table of food!!! He thought it was the funniest thing in the world!! (Because I was known to have a big appetite) no disrespect, it was a standing joke!!! Just the funniest incident ever!! Also another fond memory while pregnant with my second son and my best friend pregnant with her first!! Our mutual "pregnant craving" was Taco House!! We ate there any where from 3-5 times a week!!! So needless to say very fond and memorable memories!! Sad to see you go, but we will still frequent the wadsworth location!!

My cousin used to live about a block away from the taco house on federal. We would go to eat there at least twice a week after school when we were in middle school. The all you can eat special, the delicious cheese enchiladas with onions, the guacamole were favorites of mine. I live in Florida now but still remember how delicious the food is. Thank you taco house for your wonderful food and memories.

I’m filled with tears at this moment. Taco house has been a go to for our family for generations. Roy and Enedina Morquecho are my grandparents who passed away in 2012&2015. They would always take us up to Denver and we always enjoyed tacos, enchilada, chips , salsa EVERYTHING. We’ve catered the chips and salsa for big events our families have had. I’ve continued dropping in with my little family I have now and my son LOVES taco house. He loves the tacos too. Something about the environment, the food, everything makes taco house feel like home. I will always cherish every single memory especially beginning with my grandparents 🤍

We live in Perry Utah 65 miles north of salt Lake City. I am from India and started eating at TH in Sept. 1967 when it was located at Broadway and Evans. Bob worked in the kitchen and Lorraine and Suzette served customers. No.4 plate was a dollar. So yummy. Lorraine married my best friend Bob Green. I am still in touch with her and her daughters Veronica and Christine. Bob Green is no more. We eat at the Federal Blvd place every time we come to Denver. Sorry that you are closing. Will miss you. Best wishes. I would love to share a photo of my wife and I wearing Taco House shirts taken today. Tell me how.

We have been going to Taco House on Federal since the early 70s. My brother absolutely loves Taco House. He moved up to Washington state and whenever he would come and visit, that was the first place we would go to after the airport. He missed it so much. On his 40th birthday, I bought a tray of enchiladas and rice and sauce and had to pack it in dry ice to ship it. It cost me $175 to ship that to him, but it was well worth it and he was so happy to have it.

I can’t be sure but I remember coming to Taco House at a young age, so possibly starting in 1958. My Mom loved the Burrada. It was always the No 4 dinner for me. My daughter was very young at the time and I once ordered her a single cheese enchilada. She wanted a burrada, just like Grandma. The waitress (oh I wish I had learned her name) decided she could get a mini-burrada. From then on that’s what my daughter got. We moved away in 1986 and I actually had withdrawals, as I was eating at the Taco House 3-4 times per week. I will forever miss the original Taco House that I grew up in.

I'm very sad to hear about this. I don't care what anyone says, I love me some Taco House burradas and enchiladas, I love the sauce they make. I don't know maybe it's Nostalgia that keeps me liking the Taco House but the memories I have going there to eat all the time with my dad and my brother and sister as a child, pretty regularly and then becoming a teenager and actually working there and then becoming an adult and still loving their food. Say what you want, but there's a reason why they've been there for over 60 years. YOU WILL BE MISSED.

My family has gone to taco house as long as I can remember. Stories have been passed on about my dad and his best friend eating legendary amounts of tacos here, celebrations and memorials have been had at taco house, I even came out to my family in taco house. When I lost my God Mom, my family went to taco house because it was her favorite restaurant and we told stories about all the times we had been there. Taco House is more than a restaurant to my family. I don’t care if that sounds cheesy because it’s true. It’s a place soaked in memories that I hope to someday bring my future children.

I'm sad to hear the OG is closing. I'm 51 years old and memories will forever stay in my heart. As a child my family ate there many times , my older sister worked there when I was maybe 1? But I remember eating the taco burger , sitting at the table next to the booth closest to the kitchen and always staring at the small glass "showcase" of different beans I believe . I can still picture how it looked way back then. Aww this is sad. We still enjoy the number 4 and the burrada at the 13th and wads location but the Federal location will forever hold the best memories for me.

Taco house for me and my brother was always a treat when we were younger. We lived in Walsh street in Denver and taco house was just down the street. My grandma Bryson ( god rest her soul) would by a box of tacos for us to enjoy. Fast forward to when I was 16 and meet my husband I remember taking him for the first time and he loved the food we moved in to the apartments next to the gas station right next to taco House by the Wadsworth location and we would literally eat it every day you couldn’t be the food or the prices. For the last 23 years we make taco house a family event. We are at the Wadsworth location at least once a month. And through all three of my pregnancies taco House cravings were a must 😂. My aunt used to work at the one in Baron's bar off 38th & Tennyson. We went there a lot there too. We went to all of them, even the one that was in Lakeside mall. The #4 was my favorite and everyone loved the burradas too. This makes me very sad.

Sorry to hear of the original location closing. I relate to your FB post with rise of costs like so many others I'm sure do too. I live out of state these days and have ordered the enchilada sauce packs several times. While I completely understand why they are 12 bucks each now from 8, after shipping, it's sadly out of my price range. 8+ shipping was a huge splurge and I always ordered 3-4 at a time. I hope there's a time that I can order them again. I've been out for a long time now.

I spent my elementary school years eating there everyday after school I would spend $1.75 for the combo smother bean burrito and taco and tostada, and I believe it was Gerald who allowed me as a kid to clean the parking lot Saturdays and Sunday mornings, he paid me $1.25 per day, and I would like to thank him for the food I still love to this day and the work ethic he encouraged me to have, I lived in the 4 plex right behind the S Federal location. and its been 47 years since I first met Gerald and my first meal. I grew up about 6 blocks away from the Original Taco House on Colfax and Quail. I remember when you could get 25cent Tacos and Burritos and the big sign at the corner reminded you of the price. And then on Tuesday.... i believe you could get all you could eat for $3.95 but don't quote me on those prices. My friends and i would get filled up for like 3 bucks and then head to Holiday Bowl after and squash some fools at bowling and make our money back and then some. I miss the 80's!!

In the early and mid-1970s, the was a Taco House location on West Colfax, in Lakewood, right across from a Target store. I was a tweener at the time. Saturday nights, we would go to Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church then head to Taco House for dinner. Tacos used to be 25¢ each. Then we’d head over to Target for whatever my parents needed. I’d always come away with a new 45 record. It’s a little thing, but Saturday night Taco House and a new record for my collection remains a treasured childhood memory. Grew up. Moved away. Rediscovered Taco House on Wadsworth, about 15 years ago. It exactly the same and so were those great memories!! Thank you Taco House!

I have a joke that I tell everyone about me eating at Taco House. That joke is that I've been eating Taco House since before I was born. My mom got cravings all the time while pregnant with me. I have now been enjoying Taco House for almost 30 years. It is honestly the go-to place for my mom and I whenever we want to meet up. The food is always amazing, to the point that I will order more to take home when done dinning. The staff are always friendly and make me feel welcome. I never want to be in a world without Taco House. I also might have called one of your locations one night after a few too many drinks, explaining my love for the food.

I've been going to Taco House since I believe 1981 (I was about 4 y/o). I actually stopped coming about 20 years ago because my grandmother who passed away in 2018 was moved to southeastern Oklahoma in the early 2000s. When I would visit the Taco House, I would always have the cheese enchiladas. I even ate my fill when the short-lived all you can eat option was offered Long live Taco House! I hope it continues for generations to come.

When I lived in Denver over the winter of 1987-88, y'all had a $4-all-you-can-eat deal, at least on Sundays; as a 22-year-old, I took full advantage. I have a lovely memory of sitting in your establishment for hours one sunny day, reading both the Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News, while my plates piled up. Two teenagers had come in after I did, and they sat in the booth behind me; they ate while I ate. Eventually I heard them saying something to the effect of "We couldn't eat another bite" -- but when I turned and looked at their table, the stack of plates that the two of them had emptied did not measure as tall as my own. I sure couldn't do that anymore, but I feel gratitude all of these years later for the down-home and very tasty food that helped keep a marginally-employed young man nourished. Long may your neon sign glow!

Been eating your delicious food for 50 years and mostly the tasty Taco Burger - Love It! Have dined at all locations but mostly the Littleton location. Thanks for the online store option. I finally bought a tee shirt since I now live in Phoenix AZ and can’t find a good Taco Burger here. I visit you every time I get back to Denver. Thanks for many years of lunches and dinners. Glad you have stayed on business all these years my old house. Keep on cooking:-)

I have loved Taco House since I was a little girl. I live up north and drive south at least once a week to get cheese enchiladas. It would be so nice to have a location back in north Denver or Thornton or even better Westminster. Would this ever be possible?!

Please find a place to continue with the Enchilada sauce. My mom Carol worked with Bob and Vicki for 25 years at the Federal location and this is the one thing that I purchase to remind me of growing up in Colorado and reminds me of my late mom. Come out east and set up a location because let me tell you, there is NO good Mexican food out here in Virginia. Miss Taco House so much!! Please bring back you enchilada packets soon!

I remember, growing up in Denver, going to Taco House on a regular basis, as it was a favorite of my mom and dad, as well as my grandparents. After we moved to the Western Slope, we continued to visit Taco House during every trip back to Denver. When I went to college at CSU we used to make trips to Denver just to go to Taco House! I miss the cheese enchiladas, tacos and the chili con queso the most! I remember how they used to bring two different kinds of hot sauce to the table, in little drinking glasses with plastic spoons, and then when they began the All-You-Can-Eat Special...which was always my favorite! Now that I am living in Germany I always think about Taco House when I make my own Mexican food!

I've been going to the Taco House since I was a child in the mid/late '70s. It's been consistently delicious all these years. I moved away from Denver 15 years ago and miss the Taco House so much. Every time I come home to visit, I eat the Taco House as many times as possible. I was elated to learn about the enchilada sauce being sold online. I bought 3 to start. I love you Taco House!

I used to live right up the street from this Taco House when I lived on West Walsh Place. I love the Taco House. I wish they had more of them all over the United States. I think they would do quite well if they went nationwide. Best food in Denver.

There used to be a location on north Federal Blvd and my family and I used to go in there all the time. (We currently live out of state.) You could order three tostadas (NOT tacos), one with beans, one with cheese and one with guacamole and get all three for a buck. It was the best buy in the whole world. We would do that over and over. I am sure the cook was smart enough to know what was going on....LOL Of course, eventually we would order an enchilada stack covered in red sauce or something else on the menu. We LOVED that place.

This is my favorite restaurant and not just because the cheese enchiladas are the best in the world, it also has to do with the best wait staff in the world! Now I haven’t actually been around the world but I’ve seen a good share of it. I’ve never experienced such kind and generous servers before. If you didn’t get enough chips and salsa on the first go around, just be patient because they will be coming around to ask if you would like more. The cheese enchiladas are so good that you’ll be back for more again and again but be careful because the plate is very hot and the sauce may still be boiling, exactly how I like it! Thank you Taco House for working so hard to make our experience the best, anywhere!!

I attended Colorado School of Mines in the early 1980's and Taco House was a standard place for us to get good Mexican food on a student's budget. the memory crossed my mind today and am so pleased to know you are still around. Congratulations on 60 years--I'll stop by next time i am in the Denver area.

My dad brought me to Taco House back in the 60s and I've been going for over 40 years. I got hooked on the Burrada, back then it was $0.60. The prices have changed, but the food is just as good.

OMG! I'm SO excited to see this site! My mom, Carol Arnold worked for Bob and Vicky for 25 years at the Federal Blvd. location. I would go in with her on select Saturdays when she would prep for Bob when her and Vicky would go on vacation. They trusted her and she worked with Anita for years too!! The memories of sitting in one of the booths when I would join my mom during prep. She would make me a bean chalupa with plenty of cheese and a dr. pepper while she worked. The yummilicious smells from the cheese and the kitchen. I'm a wife of a Marine and we have moved so much and are now in Stafford Virginia and what I would GIVE to have the recipes for the enchilada sauce, the refried beans and the original queso dip (with beans). Takes me back when I was younger! I turn 46 tomorrow 6/29 and I just bought me a t-shirt and 4 of the classic enchilada sauces for my birthday!! I remember when Bob passed away from skin cancer. God bless him and Vicky. Two very good people!!

Forty-three years ago my wife and I got married. We moved to Denver for school. We had little money and found Taco House. We love the place. We are in CA now, but are retiring and moving back to Denver. We will once again be customers at Taco House.

I am so excited to have found this site. I worked at the Taco House in Littleton from 1976 to 1978, and every time I go back to Colorado, I have to stop in for some TexMex food. You just can't find that in California! I wish that there was a way for you to ship the Chili Con Queso. The best cheese dip ever!
