Sorry to hear of the original location closing. I relate to your FB post with rise of costs like so many others I'm sure do too. I live out of state these days and have ordered the enchilada sauce packs several times. While I completely understand why they are 12 bucks each now from 8, after shipping, it's sadly out of my price range. 8+ shipping was a huge splurge and I always ordered 3-4 at a time. I hope there's a time that I can order them again. I've been out for a long time now.

I spent my elementary school years eating there everyday after school I would spend $1.75 for the combo smother bean burrito and taco and tostada, and I believe it was Gerald who allowed me as a kid to clean the parking lot Saturdays and Sunday mornings, he paid me $1.25 per day, and I would like to thank him for the food I still love to this day and the work ethic he encouraged me to have, I lived in the 4 plex right behind the S Federal location. and its been 47 years since I first met Gerald and my first meal. Thank you

My Parents took us here all the time. The best memory is the 3 cheese enchiladas with the 3 crisps that came in the foil pan and the cardboard white box. It was affordable at, I believe 3.00!!! To this day I still go to the location on Federal and the one on Wadsworth. Also, what is the cheese they use??? LOL

I grew up about 6 blocks away from the Original Taco House on Colfax and Quail. I remember when you could get 25cent Tacos and Burritos and the big sign at the corner reminded you of the price. And then on Tuesday.... i believe you could get all you could eat for $3.95 but don't quote me on those prices. My friends and i would get filled up for like 3 bucks and then head to Holiday Bowl after and squash some fools at bowling and make our money back and then some. I miss the 80's!!

In the early and mid-1970s, the was a Taco House location on West Colfax, in Lakewood, right across from a Target store. I was a tweener at the time. Saturday nights, we would go to Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church then head to Taco House for dinner. Tacos used to be 25¢ each. Then we’d head over to Target for whatever my parents needed. I’d always come away with a new 45 record. It’s a little thing, but Saturday night Taco House and a new record for my collection remains a treasured childhood memory. Grew up. Moved away. Rediscovered Taco House on Wadsworth, about 15 years ago. It exactly the same and so were those great memories!! Thank you Taco House!
